The Inspector's Notes
When you pick up your deck permit you will usually find that the inspector has made some notes and added some stamps to your plans.  Take a little time and go over all the comments.  Don’t let all the red ink scare you.  Most of these notes just reference generic code requirements you will need to follow.  You will want to pay special attention if you see any specific notes referring to your projects construction.  For instance the inspector may have calculated the required sizes of your footings. Always build from the approved plans.  If you choose to make any changes be sure you run them by the inspector to get them approved and to make sure you are still working off of the same page.
