Introducing Siberian Larch into the U.S. deck market will help reduce pressure on tree species that are less sustainable such as those coming from the delicate South American Rainforests. Siberian Larch is truly the last sustainable Old Growth lumber product in the world capable of providing the U.S. with a premium product. There are over 1 billion acres worth of Old Growth Siberian Larch in the Russian Boreal Forests. That is more acreage than the entire Amazon rain forest. This huge amount of land will provide a large foundation to build the sustainable growth strategies the Industry is moving towards. At current production rates there are five new Siberian Larch trees grown for every one cut down. Siberian Larch has been certified by the criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) since September 2002. It is also now being planted on a limited basis on tree plantations in Canada and the Northern U.S.
