I am replacing the existing floor boards on my deck, but need to first remove the old ones.
What is the easiest way to go about this?
I am trying to pry the 10 foot boards off one at a time with a pry-bar, but this is really not working. Trying to get the bar underneath the nailed part of the board is damaging the joices underneath, which I am not replacing if I don't have to. It has taken me forever to remove just 2 boards! There has to be an easier way. Will ripping the boards with a circular saw or sawzaw help?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
THANKS!

| Hi Nick, thanks for your question and using the forum. Check out this tool at link below http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=11329 It is designed for removing nailed decking boards. If you want to continue without investing in a new tool. Cut the decking between the joists in manageable lengths. Use a crowbar to lift the decking and cut the nails with a SawZall with a long metal cutting blade. You can also drive the boards up with a 5 pound babbit hammer or 10 pound sludge hammer from the underside. Hope this helps and thanks
