Bald Cypress heartwood’s resistance to decay and insect infestation makes it a popular choice exterior uses such as for siding, decks, and porches. Cypress has also been used for heavy construction especially for massive beams and posts in warehouses, bridges, and docks. It is also used to make burial caskets. Cypress is a regional product and will not usually be stocked outside of the Southeastern U.S.
